Nintendo NES Games
"Another obscure NES title that deserves a second look...or perhaps a first."
"The best action/rpg ever"
Overview: Zelda 2 by far the best of the Zelda's in depth and challenge wise Why oh why has it never been completed by so many mainly people hated the Gameplay and Control scheme Why those people are considered shallow read on

  Story: 10/10
This is by far the best story out of the Zelda games infact it has the greatest ending of all Zelda's. I will not spoil the ending of it. It's the best ending I've seen out of all the Zelda's though. The Story is exciting as well and the climax of the story is the ending. That proves the story must be pretty well balanced to make the ending stand out more than the rest of it.

  Gameplay: 8.9
This is what most people complain about. I reprimand Mr. Miyamoto with his excellent transformation of Zelda. He had guts this is what people complain about how the Gameplay was terrible because it was not like Zelda 1. Well I beg to Differ Zelda 2 infact had flawless gameplay. Excellent conversion of battles with get this pre rendered backdrops. The programming of Zelda 2 was ahead of it's time. Infact it was the first ''RPG'' to initiate battles on the overworld map due to bumping into an enemy. The conversion moved smooth with no freeze between the second you ran into an enemy on the map to the side scrolling battle scene. Infact half the boss battles would not of been possible in the old style of Zelda so it was a good thing for that reason.

  Control: 9.1/10
Yes the control is very responsive. People dislike the controls though they wanted it to be like Zelda 1. People utterly hated the controls and gameplay to Zelda 2. Yet I myself am here to defend them. The controls most wanted was left being left up being up down being down and right being right with A and B for weapons. What Zelda 2 gave was giving people these controls for the overworld map with the exception you could not use weapons. Thus when you ran into an enemy you would go to a side scrolling battle screen. where left was left, right was right, A was to Jump, A+down later on was for the Downstab, and A+up later was for the Upstab(the latter two moves could only be done whilst jumping). B was to use your sword, forward+B for a lunging stab, and down+B crouching stab. start brings up the spell menu select a Spell and press select to use it. Those are the very responsive controls. Also in Zelda 2 you had actual interactivity with people.

  Challenge: 10/10
This game is very hard as the rating states. You have 3 lives to accomplish things. Thanks sake that you can continue if you were given only 3 lives to beat the whole game you'd surely perish. The Blue IronKnuckles were by far one of the toughest enemies. Of course there were the annoying skullballs and the tough bosses and the whole confusing 6th palace and Great Palace, making this game hard and long. Death mountain the Death Valley. All very hard.

  Replay: 8/10
After beating the game the first time you can continue your game with your maxed out character and go thru everything again. There's also the option of going thru the game without the candle and cross which makes it alot harder.

  Music: 10/10
The best music out of all the Zelda games is in this one the memorable tune of the overworld, the memorable tune of a cave, the battle music, the music of the castle, the sound it makes when you collect a fairy, the boss battle music, the music played when you find the Palace treasure. All these tunes are superb. (and I almost named every tune in the game)

  Overall: 99/100
Mostly averaged from the story and the ending and the Challenge and of course the music. People may criticize me for giving Zelda 2 such a high score but by far it deserves every ounce of it and maybe more. Zelda 2 is a game that doesn't get enough credit where credit is due it is by far the best of the series.
