Sega Saturn Net Link accessory

$350.00

Sega NetLink (also known as SegaNet in Japan) was an attachment for the Sega Saturn game console to provide Saturn users with internet access, a web browser, and access to email through their console.

The Sega Saturn NetLink accessory, released in 1996, was an innovative device for its time, enabling online gaming and web browsing for the Sega Saturn console. It included a 28.8k modem that connected to a standard analog phone line. Players could use it for direct-dial multiplayer gaming with compatible titles like Virtual On and Daytona USA NetLink Edition. The device also came with a web browser on a disc, allowing users to surf the internet using the Saturn console.

Despite its forward-thinking design, the NetLink faced limitations due to the analog phone-based technology, which is mostly incompatible with modern VoIP systems. Today, it is a collectible item that provides a glimpse into early console online capabilities.
